Cascade Control Method of Sliding Mode and PID for PEMFC Air Supply System

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) are vulnerable to oxygen starvation when working under variable load. To address these issues, a cascade control strategy of sliding mode (SMC) and Proportion Integration Differentiation (PID) is proposed in this study. The goal the enhance PEMFC’s net power by adjusting excess ratio (OER) reference value occurrence load change. In order estimate cathode pressure reconstruct OER, an expansion state observer (ESO) developed. study found that there maximum error about 2200Pa between estimated actual pressure. Then tracking OER realized SMC PID control. simulation study, which compared performance several methods—including controller, adaptive fuzzy controller i.e., controller—was carried out various load-changing scenarios. outcomes demonstrate method really does have faster response time. overshoot reduced approximately 3.4% 0.09% PID. performs more effectively terms
